UI & Brand Design

Building a World Where Accessibility Knows No Limits

Project Overview

In August 2023, Kooba embarked on a branding and design project with Vially.io, a leading company in digital accessibility. As an agency committed to universal design principles, we were thrilled to partner with Vially on this journey. Vially sought a complete rebrand focused on creating a brighter, more inclusive identity, along with a website and product redesign aimed at enhancing user experience and user interface to boost engagement and lead generation.

The Brand

Leading the UI and brand aspects of the project, I began with the development of a new logo that symbolised Vially’s commitment to a more accessible future. After a collaborative process, a simple yet impactful design was chosen, featuring a step element to represent progress. The logo’s clarity and simplicity were intentional, aligning with the goal of an inclusive brand.

Following the logo, I developed a vibrant, high-contrast colour palette to make Vially’s content more inclusive.

The Website

The new visual identity was integrated into a complete UI redesign of the website and content templates, creating a cohesive and engaging digital presence. The updated interface was designed to enhance usability and improve conversion, effectively turning site traffic into leads.

Unlike typical Kooba projects, this was a design-only task, with Vially handling the development. The redesigned UI showcased Vially’s refreshed brand with a light, distinctive look, while the UX improvements addressed concerns about navigation and clarity. A prominently displayed call-to-action (CTA) on the home page streamlined the user journey and improved lead generation.

The Product

Vially’s core product, an accessibility audit and compliance tool, required a significant UI overhaul to better serve both novice and expert users. The onboarding flow was redesigned to improve user activation and guide new users more effectively through the platform. The dashboard was restructured to create a clearer information hierarchy, making key insights more accessible without overwhelming users with too much data. The website and audit list views were redesigned to improve navigation, making it easier to track and address accessibility issues across multiple projects.

The redesign also explored customisation options, allowing users to tailor their workspace with preset views based on their specific needs. Pricing structures were reconsidered from a design perspective, incorporating visual cues to highlight premium features and encourage upgrades without disrupting the experience. By focusing on simplicity, clarity, and accessibility, the new UI transformed Vially’s product into a more intuitive, user-friendly tool.

Outcome

The rebrand and UI redesign positioned Vially for long-term growth by creating a cohesive, scalable digital presence. The new brand identity strengthened their position as a leader in accessibility, while the improved website and product interface made it easier for users to engage with their tools. The enhanced UI not only improved usability but also contributed to better lead conversion, setting a new standard for accessibility-focused digital products.
