Transforming Dole Ireland's Online Presence – A Feast for the Eyes

Overview & Role

Dole plc, rooted in a modest Irish wholesale business from the 1850s, is now the global leader in fresh produce. Born from the 2021 acquisition of Dole Food Company by Total Produce plc, it's an Irish success story with a reach spanning Ireland, Europe, North America, and beyond.

As the lead UI designer on this project, I played a pivotal role in shaping the digital presence of Dole Ireland. Our collaborative efforts not only aligned with the company's rich heritage but also propelled it to new heights, establishing a robust and visually compelling online identity. Today, Dole Ireland stands as a testament to Irish ingenuity, resonating across Ireland, Europe, North America, and beyond.

Challenges & Objectives

This project aimed to deliver a cutting-edge, user-friendly website with a visually appealing interface, ensuring seamless navigation and easy access to information for users. The UI design focused on aligning and elevating the new aesthetic with the global site, introducing novel elements for B2B components.

The master template served as the foundation for crafting B2B regional websites in key European markets, starting with Dole Ireland, Dole UK, and Dole Nordic. Throughout the process, strict adherence to Dole identity guidelines was maintained.

In preserving the essence of dole.com, a particular emphasis was placed on retaining significant content, especially information related to bananas and pineapples. The structural adaptation of the sites addressed the unique requirements of European operations, with a keen focus on enhancing B2B components.

The delivered sites are presented in a format seamlessly compatible with existing Dole Content Management Systems, ensuring ease of integration. Additionally, the design empowers local marketing departments, allowing them to effortlessly populate and maintain the sites with relevant regional content on an ongoing basis.

The Result

Dole Ireland's new website emerges as a vibrant testament to the brand's essence and vitality. Navigating the site is an immersive journey, unveiling a bold digital experience that not only sets the stage for exploration but also resonates with the spirit of Dole.
